Sample Installation

Civic Duty panels come with detailed installation instructions. An overview of the process is provided below. Once prep work is done and rust preventative paint is dry, application of the Patch, Arch and New-Q should take less than half an hour.

Step 1 - Body Preparation

First, grind or cut away rusty or damaged areas and paint these spots with a rust preventative chemical such as Rust Reformer, Extend, POR15 or other. After that dries, we recommend you topcoat with a Rustoleum-type paint product.

Step 2 - Panel Preparation

Next you need to sand the surface of the body that the Patch will contact and remove any small excess carbon fiber material (if necessary) on the panel. Check the fit on the car and be sure it is perfect before proceeding.

Step 3 - Application

You will be using a Contact Adhesive or an Epoxy (differences are explained in detail in the instructions. Both can work well, but a good Contact Adhesive is the easiest to apply while an Epoxy may create a more permanent bond). Apply the material to both surfaces and then press the panel onto the car's body, placing it with as much precision as possible.
Use a roller (a plastic or metal roller is recommended) to assure tight contact with the entire surface.

Step 4 - Painting (Optional)

If you plan to paint the panel, you will first skim with bondo, sand, and then prime. Due to the need for air filtration and personal safety considerations, actual painting of base and clearcoat may be best applied by a body shop.

Installation of a Civic Duty panel is so easy we doubt you will have any problems. But if any questions arise, our staff will be happy to help or if necessary, we can walk you through the installation.
